Mayor Richard Vinroot

Former Charlotte Mayor and 2000 Republican Gubernatorial Nominee Richard Vinroot has endorsed Tom Fetzer for State Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party.  Vinroot served as Mayor of Charlotte while Fetzer served as Raleigh’s chief executive, and the two mayors were widely acclaimed for their leadership in making government operate more efficiently and effectively.

“Tom Fetzer is a leader with all the right skills to be a great Republican State Chairman,” Vinroot remarked.  “I witnessed first-hand Tom’s leadership in bringing people together to accomplish great goals when he was Raleigh’s Mayor.  I know he will do likewise in uniting our Party to achieve great election victories across North Carolina.”

Fetzer complimented Vinroot’s contributions to our Nation, state and Party.  “Richard Vinroot is a distinguished Vietnam veteran and an outstanding public servant.  Over 1.3 million conservative North Carolinians were proud to cast their votes for Mayor Vinroot in the 2000 election, and I am proud to have him on my team,” he said.
