2004 Republican Gubernatorial Nominee and former Republican Senate Leader Patrick Ballantine announced his support for Tom Fetzer in his bid for Republican State Chairman.  Ballantine, who represented New Hanover County in the State Senate for a decade, called Fetzer “one of the brightest stars in this generation of conservative leaders”.

“Tom Fetzer is the best-qualified leader to lead the NCGOP for the next two years,” Ballantine said.  “Tom has proven that he can raise the funds we need to create a Republican majority in North Carolina.  I call on all of the conservatives who supported me in my campaign for Governor to help elect Tom Fetzer as our new Republican State Chairman.”

Fetzer was elated to learn of Ballantine’s support.  “Patrick Ballantine is a man who is respected for his leadership, integrity, and ability to win tough races.  I count his support as a treasured asset and will be working closely with him in the days ahead.”
