ASHEVILLE, NC – The North Carolina Chapter of Eagle Forum, a leading pro-family organization founded by Phyllis Schlafly, fully supports and endorses Tom Fetzer for Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party. A former Mayor of Raleigh, Fetzer’s career includes serving as Executive Assistant to U.S. Senator John East, as Campaign Manager for Bill Cobey for Congress, and as Senior Campaign Advisor for U.S Senator Jesse Helms.

“In order for a Republican candidate to win in North Carolina, they must articulate both a fiscally and socially conservative platform,” said Eagle Forum State President, Andrew Dunn.  “History has repeatedly shown, at both the state and national levels, that when true conservatism is on the ballot, huge voter turnout results.”

“Tom Fetzer is the kind of candidate who will attract the voters that the Republican Party lost in 2006 and 2008, that is, the conservative base, young people, and the Helms Democrats,” Dunn said.  “Tom will return the GOP to its roots by resisting attempts to strip social conservatism from the Party platform, and Republicans will win once again.”

Eagle Forum’s Mission is to enable conservative and pro-family men and women to participate in the process of self-government and public policy making so that America will continue to be a land of individual liberty, respect for family integrity, public and private virtue, and private enterprise.
