It’s all about the math – life!
I was in real bad need of a change of scenery. You spend a third of your day asleep, a third at work and a third doing what you want to do, so i thought if I could change the math so that it’s 2/3 what i want to do by doing a job that i love i win 30% of my life back and you cannot put a price on that. I was working in a factory, well an assembly line for a car manufacturer and let’s face it , it’s not exactly a dream job, it just put the food on the table. I start thinking about what it is i really either enjoy doing or think i would enjoy doing. My only hobby was playing squash every now and again, but i was nowhere near a standard to teach it, so that was down the drain. I do love to cook, but nowhere near chef level, unless Burger King counts? Then i remembered seeing an episode of “Cake Boss” on tv, it was about an American/Italian cake maker living in New York City who made the most amazing cake, some of them had fireworks and lighting on them and always dreamt of being that skilled at something. I didn’t want to put all my eggs into one basket so i thought instead of being a cake maker i would be a caterer, i had a look on the internet and being a caterer in Nottingham was going to be no easy feat, there where lots, but im sure there was a lot i could add to the market. It didn’t take that long and now i have a very successful company, follow your heart and don’t settle.
